According to today's Hollywood Reporter, Dean Devlin (Independence Day, Eight Legged Freaks) plans to turn WizKids' MechWarrior property into a live action feature film.  Devlin, who told the Reporter, 'I'm crazy about the material, this is a real passion project for me,' plans on the extensive use of computer graphics techniques in order to make the MechWarrior movie look like it cost $150 million to produce, while keeping the actual cost well under $100 million.  Devlin used more than 200 computer-generated shots in Eight Legged Freaks and plans use even more for MechWarrior.  No production plans or shooting dates were announced, so stay tuned for further developments.

MechWarrior isn't WizKids only Hollywood project.  WizKids' founder Jordan Weisman is working with big-time Hollywood talent agency CAA in an attempt to bring WizKids' inaugural collectible miniatures game, Mage Knight, to the silver screen.  Hollywood producer Mark Gordon is working with Weisman on a concept for the first Mage Knight film.
