According to today's Hollywood Reporter, veteran comic book scribe James Robinson (Starman) has been tapped to write the screenplay for a new Sherlock Holmes film featuring the descendants of Holmes and Watson, who band together to solve a series of crimes in twenty-first century London.  Darkness Falls producers William Sherak and Jason Shuman are producing the Holmes & Watson project for New Line cinema.  Sherak and Shuman chose Robinson, who has written the screenplay for The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, to write a screenplay about the heir to Holmes legacy (Sherlock III ?), who is living the life of a modern playboy until the strikingly beautiful Dr. Jane Watson manages to involve him in a complicated plot of murder and intrigue.
