Titan Comics will launch a new licensed comic series based on the Wakfu multiplayer video game property by Ankama Games on November 11.

Titan’s eight-issue series will be written by Kahel, with art by Mig (Shak Shaka, Le Messager). One day, wanna-be hero Yugo and his friends stumble into the mysterious Shako Park.  As they’re exploring the amusement park, Princess Amalia catches the eye of the park’s secretive creator, Shak Shaka.

The Wakfu massively multiplayer online role-playing game is a tactical turn-based game developed by Ankama games and released in 2012.  It is the sequel to Ankama’s game Dofus, which takes place 1000 years earlier.

The property inspired a French animated TV series, which began streaming in the U.S. on  Netflix last year (see “'Krosmaster: Season 3' and 'Tanto Cuore: Oktoberfest'”). Japanime Games has incorporated Wakfu and Dofus characters into its Krosmaster board game series (“'Krosmaster Season 4,' 'Tanto Cuoro' OP, More “). There is also a French TCG, and a new IOS/Android app game Wakfu Raiders which debuted in June.
