Laverne Cox, who was nominated for an Emmy for her role in Orange Is the New Black, will play Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the planned TV event special (see “’Rocky Horror’ Remake Headed to Small Screen”), according to Variety.  The role was played by Tim Curry in the original.

Ant-Man director Peyton Reed is in negotiations to direct the sequel, according to Hollywood Reporter.  After a big opening in China last weekend (see “’Goosebumps’ Tops, ‘Crimson Peaks’ Flops”), Ant-Man‘s box office take is at $455 million worldwide, enough to get a sequel going.   Marvel has scheduled it for July 6, 2016 (see “Best in Shows – Q3 2018”).

James McAvoy and Charlize Theron will star in the film adaptation of the Oni graphic novel Coldest City, according to Variety.  The film will be directed by David Leitch (John Wick).  The graphic novel is written by Antony Johnston, with art by Sam Hart. 

Mark Ruffalo is in final negotiations to appear as the Hulk in Thor:  Ragnarok, according to Deadline.  This will be Ruffalo’s first appearance in a non-Avengers Marvel film.  The release date will be November 3, 2017 (see “Best in Shows – Q4 2017”).
