A live-action adaptation of the upcoming video game Street Fighter V is coming from Capcom and Machinima, titled Street Fighter: Resurrection.
The five-episode series begins in March 2016 airing exclusively on Verizon's go90 app, and is expected to roughly coincide with the launch of IDW Publishing's Street Fighter X GI Joe (see "'Street Fighter Unlimited' and 'Street Fighter X GI Joe'"). Udon recently launched the new Street Fighter Unlimited series.
The main focus of Street Fighter: Resurrection will be Charlie Nash, returned from the dead to target legendary street fighting champions. The new series will bring back most of the creative team from 2014's Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist including producers Jacqueline Quella and Mark Woding, director and writer Joey Ansah, as well as actors Alain Mousi (X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Mike Moh (Empire), playing classic Street Fighter characters Ken and Ryu, respectively.
More merchandise on the tabletop gaming side could follow. This summer Jasco Games acquired the rights to Street Fighter for the Universal Fighting System Collectible Card Game as well as for board and miniature games (see "Jasco Games Acquires 'Dragon Ball Z,' 'Cowboy Bebop'").
