Doctor Who: The Card Game Classic Doctors Edition is completely compatible with both the 1st and 2nd edition of Doctor Who: The Card Game, designed by game design legend Martin Wallace (A Few Acres of Snow, A Study in Emerald, Age of Steam). Cubicle 7 has noted that the new edition does have a subtly different card back. The game features 103 all-new pieces of art on 132 cards, with all of the artwork focused on the characters from the first eight incarnations of The Doctor. Neither MSRP nor release date have been formally announced.

Doctor Who continues to be a popular brand; Titan Comics recently announced a new comic in the franchise (see "'Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor' Ongoing Series"), and Gale Force Nine announced its first new board game (see “GF9 Reveals First 'Doctor Who' Game”).
