Fantasy Flight Games has announced the third wave of expansions for Star Wars: Armada, their popular tactical miniatures board game.

Star Wars: Armada Wave Three includes two expansions: the Imperial Assault Carriers Expansion Pack and the Rebel Transports Expansion Pack. Wave Three introduces rules for a new type of ship, the Flotilla, which represent multiple smaller ships. The new ship type can bolster squadrons and has other abilities that boost the rest of your fleet.

The Imperial Assault Carriers Expansion Pack features the Gozanti-class cruiser, an economical but intriguing tactical piece whose fleet-point cost is comparable to a fighter squadron.

The Rebel Transports Expansion Pack features the GR-75 medium transports which can be fielded as either GR-75 Combat Retrofits or as GR-75 Medium Transports. It also includes a new commander and crew member able to provide free rerolls.

Both expansions are due out in Q3. MSRP is $19.95 for each.

Star Wars: Armada Wave 2 came out last year, and featured the impressive Imperial Class Star Destroyer (see "'Star Wars: Armada' Wave Two Expansions").
