Lion Rampant Imports has announced an exclusive deal with German publisher Zoch Verlag to distribute the Kinderspiel des Jahres winning game Spinderella in North America.

Spinderella is a children’s game designed by Roberto Fraga (River Dragons, Dancing Eggs). The players race to rescue their three ants, while using magnetic spiders dangling from the treetops above to try to catch their opponents’ ants and carry them back to the starting line.  The game features the illustrations of veteran game artist Doris Matthaus.

The game uses a two-tiered game board, with plastic ants and an anthill on the lower level and spiders on the top level.  Spinderella can be played by 2 to 4 players, ages 6 and up, and plays in about 20 minutes. MSRP was not announced.

Spinderella was a hit with critics for Zoch, earning it the coveted Kinderspiel des Jahres prize last year (see “2015 ‘Kinderspiel des Jahres’ Winner Announced”).
