Asmodee NA plans to release Captain Sonar, Roberto Fraga (River Dragons, Doctor Panic) and Yohan Lemonnier’s (The World of Smog: On Her Majesty’s Service) game of underwater combat, during Q3.

Set in a near-future world where corporations wage open but stealthy warfare for control of deep sea mining operations, Captain Sonar pits two teams of submariners against each other in a real-time duel to the death.  Each team is composed of one to four players, with each player assuming responsibility for one position on the submarine’s crew:  captain, first mate, engineer, or radio operator.  Using bluff, teamwork, and deduction, the crew members must determine the location of the enemy sub and attack it with torpedoes while avoiding detection themselves.

Captain Sonar was designed by the Matagot design studio.  It is intended for 2 to 8 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in less than an hour.  The game includes two sets of 12 role sheets, two transparent Radio Operator sheets, eight erasable markers, and two screens.  MSRP is $49.99.
