The Fox Network has made a put pilot commitment for a new X-Men adventure series.
According to Variety, the currently untitled series will focus on a set of parents who discover their children have mutant powers. They are forced to go underground to protect their children from a hostile government, and they join a network of mutants.
The series is written by Matt Nix (Burn Notice) who will also executive produce with Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, and Simon Kinberg. Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will also executive produce for Marvel. Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Television will co-produce the series.
This will be the first Marvel series at Fox, which is home to DC Comics’ Gotham and Lucifer.
Variety also reported that the Hellfire series from Marvel that was in development at the network is no longer moving forward (see “TWO 'X-Men' TV Series in the Works”).
