Aquaman director James Wan and star Amber Heard, who will play Lady Mera in the film, have tweeted out photos of Heard in costume, indicating that pre-production on the film is underway.  As of February, production was scheduled to begin in Australia in August (see “Early February Geek Movie Round-Up”).

Heard will appear as the character first in Justice League (see “Mid-October Geek Film News Round-Up”), then play an expanded role opposite Game of Thrones’ Jason Momoa in Aquaman.
