Like the rest of the series, The Red Dragon Inn 7 puts players in the shoes of characters from a fantasy land, carousing and causing trouble at their favorite watering hole. During the game they pass around drinks, gamble over cards, and play pranks on one another hoping to be the last (more or less) sober character remaining. The difference in this expansion is that rather than playing adventuring hero types (or villains), in The Tavern Crew the players act as the employees of the tavern: Molly the Stablehand, Jasper the Bouncer, the Wench, and the tavern’s owner himself, Warthorn Redbeard.
The Red Dragon Inn 7: The Tavern Crew can be played on its own or combined with any of the earlier titles in the game series. On its own, it can be played by 2 to 4 players, but the number can be expanded by combining it with earlier sets. It is recommended for ages 13 and up, and takes less than an hour to play.
This set comes with 4 new character decks, 3 side decks, 1 new drink deck, 4 player mats, 4 fortitude markers, 4 alcohol content markers, 50 gold coin tokens, and 5 drink coasters. MSRP has not been announced.
Slugfest Games is funding the production of The Red Dragon Inn 7: The Tavern Crew with a Kickstarter campaign. The campaign has attracted $141,144 in pledged support from 2,389 backers (an average of $59.08 per backer) as it heads into its last day. Backer fulfillment is planned for September.
Slugfest added villains to The Red Dragon Inn in the last expansion, which released last year (see “‘Red Dragon Inn’ and ‘Battle for Greyport’ Expand”).
