A new edition of the multi-genre role playing game Trinity will release in 2019 when Onyx Path launches Trinity Continuum.

Trinity Continuum allows players to create super-powered characters called Talents, Psions, and Novas, who use their powers for good or ill.  Adventures can be set in any time period, past, present, or future.  The game is based on Onyx Path’s Storypath system, which uses 10-sided dice in a success-based dice pool mechanic for resolving character actions in game.

The Core Rulebook will focus on adventures in the present day, and includes background information about the Trinity world, rules for character creation, using the Storypath system, equipment, and Talents.  The book will be a 7 by 10-inch hardcover volume with about 200 pages.

The first sourcebook, called Trinity Continuum:  Aeon, will release at the same time.  This 300-page hardcover book presents a near-future world recovering from a global war.  The setting is designed to support cyberpunk-style corporate espionage, post-apocalypse survival, and space exploration themed games.  A pair of game reference screens are also planned, one for each book.

MSRP for the two books and accompanying screens have not yet been announced.

Onyx Path is funding the production of the new edition through a Kickstarter campaign which has raised $157,300 in pledges from 1,653 backers (an average of $95.16 per backer) as of this writing, with one day to go.  The company has stated that one goal of the Kickstarter is to produce a print run of the two books for distribution into retail stores.  As such, the campaign includes a retailer-only backer option that includes five copies of each book and screen.  Backer fulfillment is planned for December, with release into the trade to follow.

Last month, Onyx Path announced plans to produce a new edition of the World of Darkness role playing game Changeling, also scheduled to release at the end of the year (see “‘Changeling:  The Lost 2nd Edition’ Comes to Trade”).
