Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049, Black Mirror) is in talks for Tim Miller’s Terminator project according to Variety. The film is billed as a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and Davis is rumored to be playing a robotic assassin. James Cameron has returned to the franchise to produce the film, which is based on an idea by Cameron, Miller, and David Ellison with Skydance (see “'Star Wars: Episode IX,' 'Terminator' Sequel, 'Teen Titans Go!'”). Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Linda Hamilton are also set to return to the film, which is scheduled for July 26, 2019.

After more than 40 years of scoring the biggest movie franchise in history, composer John Williams is ready to retire from Star Wars after Episode IX. Williams, who recently turned 86 and has multiple Academy Awards and more for his work, revealed his desire to step away during an interview with KUSC, a classical music public radio station in Southern California. “It will round out a series of nine [films] that will be quite enough for me,” Williams said, adding that he expects Disney to keep the franchise going for decades. Episode IX is set to bow on December 20, 2019.

Archie Comics is going Bollywood in a new live-action film. The film, which will be will be made in partnership between the publisher and Graphic India, will reimagine classic Archie characters for an Indian cast and audience (via Variety). More details on the project are pending. Archie has had some success with its recent live-action adaptations. The second season of the Archie-inspired Riverdale series on CW is underway (and has in turn inspired more comics; see “'Riverdale' Comic Series in the Works”), and Netflix has ordered 20 episodes based on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (see “Sabrina The Teenage Witch's Chilling Adventures Move To Netflix”).
