Restoration Games has announced plans to produce a new title, Dinosaur Tea Party, as well as expansions for its upcoming releases Fireball Island: The Curse of Vul-Kar and Downforce, all planned for release in the third quarter.
Dinosaur Tea Party is an updated and re-themed version of the 1976 Parker Brothers classic Whosit?, now imagined as a proper English tea party attended by Jurassic beasts. Players try to deduce the names of the other tea party guests by asking questions about their identity. The first player to correctly guess three dinos wins the game, but the character’s personality quirks can quickly confuse them.
The game comes with 20 tiles, 20 cards, 14 cubes, and 78 tokens. It is intended for 3 to 5 players, ages 7 and up, and plays in less than half an hour. MSRP is $19.95, and release is scheduled for August.
Originally announced last year (see “Restoration Games Heads to ‘Fireball Island’”), details of Fireball Island: The Curse of Vul-Kar have been released. Now scheduled for a November release, the game will have a larger island than the 1986 Milton Bradley original, with faster-moving marbles and other updates.
Fireball Island: The Curse of Vul-Kar will come with a three-piece 3D game board, 1 Vul-Kar figure, 4 player figures, a “Heart of Vul-Kar” piece, 1 die, 7 trees, 1 ladder, 2 bridges, 52 cards, 15 tokens, and 14 marbles. The game will be playable by 2 to 4 players, ages 7 and up, and take a bit less than an hour to play. MSRP is $69.95.
The game will be supported at its release by a trio of game expansions, all also releasing in November:
Wreck of the Crimson Cutlass will feature a new island game board with new treasures to collect and cannonballs to evade. MSRP is $39.95.
The Last Adventurer offers the option of a fifth player in the game, as well as character-specific player powers, dangerous snakes, and a rolling boulder. MSRP is $24.95.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Bees! comes with a new dexterity-based skill mechanic that can be added to the game, eliminating “safe” spaces. MSRP is $14.95.
Danger Circuit, the expansion for the racing game Downforce is also releasing this July (see “‘Downforce’ Shifts Into High Gear”).
