BOOM! Studios will extend summer into fall with the release of the Wet Hot American Summer original graphic novel. The story comes from writer Christopher Hastings (Gwenpool) and artist Noah Hayes (Goldie Vance), with previously announced Joe Quinones (America) covering the volume (see “BOOM! Gets 'Wet Hot American Summer'”). The volume will be in stores in November.

In the OGN, Camp Director Beth contends with a surprise health department inspection at Camp Firewood, which is anything but hygienic. Now, the world’s most dysfunctional camp counselors have to clean up their act to keep the camp open -- assuming they get back from partying in time.

The comic is inspired by the 2001 film parody of 1980s-era sex romps that starred Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Molly Shannon, Paul Rudd, Christopher Meloni, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, and others. While the film bombed in theaters, it has since developed a cult following and spawned two popular Netflix series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp and Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later. Most of the original cast returned for both series.
