The third game in Uwe Rosenberg’s series of seasonally inspired puzzle-based games will be Spring Meadow, releasing in September from Stronghold Games.
Like the autumn-themed Indian Summer (see "Stronghold Prepares for ‘Indian Summer’"), Spring Meadow challenges players to place tiles on their own puzzle board. In this outing, players try to link holes in the tiles representing marmot dens and earn extra rock tiles to help fill their meadow. During the game, scoring phases will occur, at which point the player with the largest meadow will claim an edelweiss hiking pin. The first player to claim two such pins wins the game.
Spring Meadow features artwork by Andrea Boekhoff (Indian Summer, Cottage Garden), and includes 1 double-sided main board, 4 double-sided player boards, 100 meadow tiles, 72 rock tiles, 25 marmot tokens, 1 3D signpost, 1 compass token, and 5 hiking pins. The game was designed for 1 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, and takes about 15 minutes per player to play. MSRP is $59.95.
The release of Spring Meadow follows a busy summer for Stronghold (see "‘Whoosh: Bounty Hunters,’ ‘Kitchen Rush,’ and ‘Nimble’").
