Stronghold Games has shared information on three games releasing later this year: Whoosh: Bounty Hunters, Kitchen Rush, and Nimble.
Whoosh: Bounty Hunters is a card game about catching cute monsters. Each player has a pile of cards in front of them, face-down, which include various weapons and spells. In the center of the table are three monster card piles with one card facing up. Each amusingly adorable monster requires a different set of spells and weapons to be caught. Players take turns revealing cards from their piles. When the correct cards are revealed to catch a monster, players must be the first to put their hand over that monster card, capturing it and earning a point. If a player is wrong about having all the trap requirements, they lose one point. When a pile of monster cards runs out, the game is finished and the player with the most points wins.
The game is for 2 -8 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 10 – 20 minutes. The game will tentatively release on June 13. MSRP is $19.95.
Kitchen Rush is a cooperative worker placement game designed by Vangelis Bagiartakis (Among the Stars, Fields of Green) and David Turczi (Anachrony, [Redacted]). The game simulates the high-pressure kitchen environment of fancy restaurants. Players must take orders, prepare meals, serve them on time, buy groceries, wash dishes, and make enough profit to cover expenses, wages, and upgrades.
The game is for 1 – 4 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in 30 -45 minutes. The game will tentatively release on June 27. MSRP is $69.95.
Nimble is a card game where everyone plays cards simultaneously. Players attempt to match the background color of the cards in their hand with the target colors of the cards in the center. The first person to empty their hand, wins. The art on the cards features six classic tales: Alice in Wonderland, Moby-Dick, Around the World in 80 Days, The Adventures of Pinocchio, Don Quixote, and The War of the Worlds.
The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 7 and up, and plays in 5 minutes. The game will tentatively release on July 11. MSRP is $19.95.
Stronghold will also be releasing Steamrollers (May 30), Gold Fever (June 13), Paper Tales (August 8), and Terraforming Mars: Prelude (August 22) this year (see "'SteamRollers,' 'Gold Fever,' and 'Paper Tales'" and "Next 'Terraforming Mars' Expansion Offers New Beginnings").
