Thanks to New York Comic-Con, it’s a trailer bonanza in the latest geek TV news roundup.
Syfy calls on 1980s politics to lay the backdrop for the violent counter culture of Deadly Class in a new trailer that has Nancy and Ronald Reagan admonishing viewers to “just say no” as the students at Kings Dominion engage in brutal shenanigans. The show based on Rick Remender and Wes Craig’s comic series debuts on January 16, with a cast that includes Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Benjamin Wadsworth (Teen Wolf), Lana Condor (X-Men: Apocalypse), Maria Gabriela de Faria (Yo Soy Franky), Luke Tennie (Shock and Awe), Liam James (The Killing), and Michel Duval (Queen of the South) (see “Master the Deadly Arts With The 'Deadly Class' Trailer”). Aziraphale, an angel, and Crowley, a demon are best friends forever -- if they can stop Armageddon -- in the first teaser trailer for Amazon’s Good Omens. Based on the beloved novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet, Good Omens will air on Amazon Prime in 2019. It stars Michael Sheen, David Tennant, Jon Hamm, and Frances McDormand (see “'Chronicles of Narnia' in Development, 'Wheel of Time' at Amazon, Neil Gaiman Moves House, 'Outcast' Cast Out, 'Twilight Zone' in Production, Lobo Cast”). The storm is coming in the teaser trailer for the second season of American Gods. Ricky Whittle’s Shadow Moon is still road tripping with Ian McShane’s Mr. Wednesday, who’s on a mission to gather Old Gods like Orlando Jones’ Mr. Nancy and Peter Stormare’s Czernobog for a battle against the New Gods, led by Crispin Glover’s Mr. World. The show based on Neil Gaiman’s bestselling novel will air on Starz in 2019, after various shakeups in showrunners and cast led to some production delays (see “'Y: The Last Man' Tv Series News, 'Black Lightning' Ratings, 'The Tick' Renewed, 'Umbrella Academy' Filming, 'Snowpiercer' Greenlit, Gillian Anderson Off Geek Shows”). A broken Matt Murdock is back to defend Hell’s Kitchen in the trailer for season 3 of Marvel’s Daredevil, but he’s not wearing the one wearing the horns. He also needs to figure out how to stop Wilson Fisk, who’s free from prison and set on revenge against the real Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. The new season airs on Netflix starting October 19.Geek TV News Roundup
