Games Workshop will soon release Speed Freeks, a stand-alone board game set in its iconic Warhammer 40,000 universe.

In Warhammer 40,000:  Speed Freeks, competing teams of Orks race their improbable vehicles (called “Wagons”) and motorcycles (called “Warbikes”) through terrain laden with hazards.  Being Orks, however, the action is not limited to racing, as they ram, shoot, and “krump” opposing racers.

Each round, players begin by secretly assigning their dice to “Kunnin,” “Speedin,” and “Shootin.”  “Kunnin” dice determine the order of play, while “Speedin” dice determine how far their vehicles move, using the game’s ruler-like tiles or “gubbinz,” as well as how likely they are to stall or crash.  “Shootin” dice are used to fire weapons at opposing vehicles before Orks that are close together fight in melee.

The game includes models for 2 Wagons—the “Shokkjump Dragsta” and the “Kustom Boosta-blasta”—and 6 Warbikes, cards with game stats, player dashboards, player screens, custom Speed Freeks dice, movement tiles, a range ruler, a deck of damage cards, and four scenarios called “rukks.”  The scenarios allow up to eight players to play at one time. MSRP was not announced.

Games Workshop will release four additional Wagon kits, available separately.  Stats for using all six Wagons in the Warhammer 40,000 miniatures game will also be included.
