Stronghold Games has shared information on ever upcoming releases that are planned for late Q4 or Q1 2019.

Fine Sand is a new card game entry in the Fable Game System from Friedemann Friese (Power Grid, Friday, Fabled Fruit). Players are contestants competing in a sand castle competition. There is a stack of starting cards, but each player also receives a resorted stack of Fable cards, which change the card stack from game to game, and introduce new mechanics. The game also includes a solo campaign.

The box includes 236 cards, 4 player boards, 4 wooden discs, 4 wooden rings, and 25 wooden coins. The game is for 1 – 4 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 30 minutes. MSRP is $44.95.

Futuropia is another game by Friedemann Friese. Players are planners for a future Utopian society, trying to develop self-sustaining efficient homes, which also provide the largest amount of food and energy to allow the residents the greatest possible leisure time.  The player who builds the best development, which sustains the most people who no long need to work, will win a chance to have their development made a reality. The luck-free economic game offers multiple setup variations to ensure good replayability.

The box includes more than 250 cardboard tiles, more than 160 wooden tokens, money, and a rules booklet. The game is for 1 - 4 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in 90 minutes. MSRP is $69.95.

The Boldest is designed by Sophia Wagner (Noria), with lush illustration by Max Prentis. In this sci-fi/fantasy had management and bidding game, players have been called by their king to enter the Iron Valley, defeat mechanical monsters, retrieve artifacts, and lead their faction to glory. Every round, players form three groups of heroes, and portion their power to take part in forest expeditions. Cooks will help players get new adventurers with special abilities for their faction. Everyone is vying for the right to be called “The Boldest.”

The box includes a double-sided board, 5 screens, 5 flag tiles, 11 tableaus, 180 hero cards, 160 forest cards, and a rulebook. The game is for 2 – 5 players, ages 10 and up ,and plays in 30 – 90 minutes. MSRP is $79.95.

Grand Fair is an expansion for Vangelis Bagiartakis’ Fields of Green (see “Stronghold To Bring 'Fields of Green' To U.S.”). The annual Agricultural Grand Fair has arrived, and all the farmers want to attend. There are attractions to see, festivities to watch, competitions to enter, and information on the latest farming industry trends.

The box includes 48 location cards, 10 main water tower and silo cards, 12 award cards, 15 wooden tractor markers, 8 attraction mats, 4 equipment tiles, a scoring pad, food, water, money and VP tokens, and a rulebook. As an expansion it requires the base game to play. The game is for 2 – 5 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. MSRP is $34.95.

Farben is designed by Apolline Jove. In this card game, players associate a color card with the word card chosen for that round. Players tell a story about why the two are connected, and then the color card is then placed under the word card. Then other players go, using the same word.  This continues for 10 word cards. Then during scoring, players pick word cards for each other, and most recall all the colors played to that word without looking. The player earns points for every correct color recalled.

The box contains 120 cards and a rule sheet. The game is for 3 – 5 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 45 – 75 minutes. MSRP is $19.95.

Kitchen Rush - Piece of Cake is an expansion for the cooperative worker placement game designed by Vangelis Bagiartakis and David Turczi (see “'Whoosh: Bounty Hunters,' 'Kitchen Rush,' and 'Nimble'”). The expansion brings desserts and ice cream to the game. It adds 2 new ingredients (creme and fruit), ice cream scoops, an additional board with new actions, and extensions to the player mats.

The box includes a game board, 42 cards, an hourglass, 4 player mats, a cardboard 3D freezer, 24 custom wooden tokens, 12 wooden cubes, 30 wooden domes, 32 cardboard tokens, and a rulebook.
