Calliope Games was sharing three new titles at the New York Toy Fair:  Ship Shape, releasing in Q2, Everyone Loves a Parade, set for June or July, and SpyMaster, coming in Q3.

Ship Shape will kick off the third year for Calliope’s Titan series of games from top-name designers.  This offering from Rob Daviau (Pandemic Legacy:  Season 1) is a three-dimensional puzzle-based game of smugglers during the age of sailing ships.  Each round, players bid for “skids” with a variety of gold, cannons, and contraband.  Each skid has a set of openings that reveal parts of the skids below them.  Points are awarded based on the goods that are revealed through the skids, with penalties for any rats that appear.

The game is intended for 2 to 6 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in less than half an hour.  MSRP is $30.00.

In Everyone Loves a Parade, designed by Mike Mulvihill (Shadowrun, Mage Knight), the players compete to construct parade floats that will appeal most to the spectators.  The tastes of the crowd are determined by dice, which the players can manipulate during the game, while the floats are constructed from cards depicting parade float staples like flowers, balloons, and banners.

Intended for 2 to 6 players, ages 8 and up, Everyone Loves a Parade plays in under a half hour.  MSRP is $25.00.

Rounding out the new releases is SpyMaster, created by Seth Johnson (HeroClix, Double Double Dominoes).  In this game, the players send out their spies to complete missions.  The game uses an “I cut, you choose” method for distributing cards to the spy agencies, who then use these cards to move agents into location, gather intelligence, and complete missions.  The player who can complete the most missions over five rounds wins.

SpyMaster also features a meta-game advanced version that players can try to learn to play by piecing together clues hidden in the game box and components.  For 2 to 6 players, ages 8 and up, games take less than an hour to play.  MSRP is $40.00.
