Tsuro: Phoenix Rising is built on the core of Tom McMurchie’s popular Tsuro: The Game of the Path (see “ WizKids Enters Board Game Arena”). Players still place tiles and move pawns in this game, but since players are phoenix, they have special options including extending their path, moving the pawn, turning lanterns into stars, or connecting stars to make a constellation. Double-sided tiles allow players to flip and rotate the pieces to adjust the paths to the lanterns. The game is for 2 – 8 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in less than an hour. MSRP is $40.00.
The game is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter and has raised $46,105 from 762 backers as of this writing, well over its $10,000 goal. The campaign will continue through Saturday February 9. Retailer levels for both the standard and Kickstarter Exclusive editions are for a deposit, with the balance due when the game is ready to ship to backers. Orders must be placed in case quantities. Backer fulfillment is currently scheduled for September with trade release to follow.New Entry in Calliope's Popular Series
