PlayFusion has announced a major expansion of its organized play program for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions, adding new types of events and allocating a $100,000 prize pool for the new season.  Big prize events will include a $5,000 prize pool at Origins, a $5,000 prize pool at UK Game Expo and a $20,000 prize pool for the big tournament at Gen Con.

The new season will see the kickoff of City Championships, constructed format events which will be held in 12 locations in North America and 6 locations in the UK.  Prize money for these events will include a $1000 top prize and additional prize money for the top 8 finishers.  The first City Championship will be held at Millennium Games in Rochester, New York on May 4, and the season will end after Gen Con the first week of August.  The company plans to expand the program to continental Europe in future seasons.

PlayFusion also announced that it will organize Trial of the Champions events beginning with the Savagery set, which releases this week.  Trial of the Champions events, to be held May 4 and 5, a month after release of the set, will bring players back to the stores with their best constructed decks to compete.

PlayFusion will also continue its Blood and Glory events, a league series that retailers can host in their stores, which launched in March (see "’Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions’ Offers ‘Blood and Glory’ OP").  The new season begins April 1 and will support league, draft, sealed and constructed play.
