DiDio had held that position for ten years; he was promoted to Co-Publisher by then-DC CEO Diane Nelson in February of 2010 (see "New DC Executive Team Announced"). He had risen rapidly in the company after joining DC in 2002 after a 20-year career in television. He was given control of the DC Universe in February 2003 by then-Publisher Paul Levitz (see "What Retailers Can Expect from DC Editorial Shake-Up"), promoted to VP-Executive Editor in 2004 (see "Dan DiDio Named DC VP-Executive Editor"); and to Senior Vice-President Executive Editor in 2005 (see "DC Promotes Execs").
Lee had added an important title in 2018, taking over as Chief Creative Officer from Geoff Johns (see "Jim Lee Takes Over as CCO").
