In Celtic, players hope to become the new ruler of the Glauberg, a region of Germany not far from Pegasus Spiele’s headquarters where remarkable Celtic relics have been discovered.
Each player tries to increase their influence by positioning their family members in the locations shown on their goal cards and by collecting rare and valuable trade goods from distant lands. The twist is that each time a player moves, any opposing pieces in the same space may move with them. Once a player has successfully completed five goal cards or collected all seven trade goods, the game ends and the player who has the most points wins.
Celtic was created by Dirk Hillebrecht (Wunderland). It comes with 1 game board, 32 player markers, 132 cards, 1 Celtic Prince figure, and a score pad, and includes rules in both English and German. The game was designed for casual players and families, and is intended for 2 to 4 players ages 8 and up. Games take under an hour to play. MSRP is $39.99.Pegasus Spiele also recently announced “big box” versions of its hits The Dwarves (see “Pegasus’ ‘The Dwarves’ Get a ‘Big Box’”) and Hansa Teutonica (see “Pegasus Spiele will Release ‘Hansa Teutonica: Big Box’ to U.S. Retail”).
