DC Comics announced Superman: Red & Blue #1 for release in March 9.
Superman: Red & Blue anthology was inspired by Batman: Black & White (see "'Batman: Black and White' Returns"). This time it's Superman's turn to have his signature red and blue colors made prominent throughout a Prestige format book. Superman: Red & Blue #1 features top writers paired with complementary artists with the top-billing going to Academy Award-winning writer of John Ridley (see "Academy Award Winner John Ridley To Write A 'Wolverine' Comic") paired up with Clayton Henry (Batman/Superman). The other writer/artist teams showcased in this book include Brandon Easton (DC Future State’s Mister Miracle) with Steve Lieber (Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen), Dan Watters with Dani, and Marguerite Bennett (DC Future State: Kara Zor-El, Superwoman) with artist Jill Thompson (The Sandman, Black Orchid). Writer/artist Wes Craig (Deadly Class) goes solo to tell a tale of Superman’s early days.
The cover art for this 40-page book was rendered by Gary Frank with a variant cover done by Lee Bermejo. Superman: Red & Blue #1 will retail for $5.99.
