BOOM! Studios revealed Better Angels: A Kate Warne Adventure OGN for release in October.

Jeff Jensen, who won an Eisner Award for Green River Killer: A True Detective Story (see "24th Annual Eisner Award Winners") and was a story editor on HBO's Watchmen series (see "HBO's 'Watchmen' Is The First Comic-Based Story To Win Best Limited Series at the Emmys"), has written an OGN for BOOM! Studios about Kate Warne, America's first female detective who worked for the Pinkerton Detective Agency as well as the U.S. government circa 1865. Warne is famous for helping thwart the Baltimore Plot which targeted then president-elect Abraham Lincoln for assassination.

Jensen commented on his inspiration for this OGN:

"When I first stumbled upon the story of America's first female professional detective and her greatest claim to fame, I wanted to know the answer to a burning question: how did a woman from a small town in upstate New York in the mid-1800s grow up and get THAT job?” said Jensen. “Better Angels is an answer to that question in the form of a historical fiction adventure that challenges some of this country’s self-serving myths that all too often pass for history.”

The OGN recounts the true story of Kate Warne that led up to her saving Lincoln and his family. The book will feature art and a cover provided by George Schall, who did Made in Korea for Image Comics.
