Debuting at number 6 is Katy Farina’s Baby-Sitters Little Sister: Karen’s Kittykat Club, the latest volume of the Baby-Sitters Club spinoff, and at number 19 is Kayla Miller’s Clash, the newest story about her character Olive Branche.
It was just a year ago that the second Little Sister book knocked Dog Man out of the top spot (see "July 2020 NPD BookScan – Top 20 Kids Graphic Novels"). That only lasted for a month, but ever since then, the Dog Man books have been scattered throughout the top 20, rather than forming a solid block at the top. With 10 Dog Man titles plus Cat Kid Comic Club, Pilkey already owns more than half the chart, and while some of the titles are sliding down the ranks, none have fallen off yet. There has never been a Top 20 chart that didn’t have every Dav Pilkey book on it. And a 12th book, Cat Kid Comic Club: Perspectives, is scheduled for November (see “Graphix Announces New ‘Cat Kid’ Book by Author of ‘Dog Man’”).
As predicted last month (see “June 2021 NPD BookScan – Top 20 Kids Comics”), Terri Libenson’s Truly Tyler is back on the chart, as is FGTEEV Saves the World!
