IDW will pit the Power Rangers against Godzilla in its latest crossover, Godzilla vs. the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which brings together characters from two different publishers, IDW and BOOM! Studios, and two different licensors, Toho and Hasbro.

The five-issue miniseries, by writer Cullen Bunn and artist Freddie Williams II, starts with villainess Rita Repulsa trying to take a break from the Power Rangers by traveling to a world where they don’t exist. However, this new world does have plenty of other adversaries, including aliens and kaiju and Godzilla himself. Rita sets her own creatures on Godzilla, but the Power Rangers have followed her on the sly, and this time they are on the same side as the Dinozords take on Godzilla.

The monthly miniseries will launch in March 2022.

IDW and Toho International announced a multi-year licensing deal for Godzilla comics just over a year ago (see “IDW and Toho International, Inc. Ink Monster ‘Godzilla’ Deal”). BOOM! Studios has had the Power Rangers license for years and they will debut a new limited series, Power Rangers Universe, this month (see “BOOM! Announces New Power Rangers Limited Series”).
