Wizards of the Coast announced D&D Spelljammer: Adventures in Space, a new boxed set, which will release on August 16, 2022.

D&D Spelljammer: Adventures in Space is a campaign setting in a slip case with three books, a DM screen, and a double-sided poster map. The three 64-page hardcover books included are as follows: Astral Adventurer's Guide, Boo's Astral Menagerie, and Light of Xaryxis. The Astral Adventurer's Guide contains six new playable races for players, featuring the Astral Elves, Autognomes, Hadozee, the Gif, Plasmoids, and the Thri-kreen. This book also contains a DM guide to Wildspace that has everything they would need to know to run a game.

Boo's Astral Menagerie is a bestiary for Spelljammer, which offers new monster types including space clowns, vampirates, murder comets, and solar and lunar dragons. The third book, Light of Xaryxis, is an adventure set in the Astral Sea. The adventure features 12 episodes, each of which ends in a cliffhanger. This boxed set will also be available with an alternative art cover.

To get players ready for this new release, WotC announced that the will offer up of a preview adventure, Spelljammer Academy, slated for July. The preview adventure will be available in PDF form for players that have a Wizards online account.

Wizards of the Coast also revealed Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel, a new anthology of standalone D&D adventures (see "Standalone 'D&D' Adventures").
