Fantagraphics Books will publish Monica, by Daniel Clowes, the first original graphic novel by the creator of Wilson and Ghost World in over five years.  In Monica, Clowes weaves a series of interconnected stories around the title character, drawing on multiple comics genres including romance, war, horror, and the supernatural.  Fantagraphics will publish the 106-page, full color hardcover on October 3, 2023, with an MSRP of $30.

Clowes produces work at a deliberate pace: His previous graphic novel, Patience, was also five years in the making (see “‘Patience’ from Daniel Clowes”).
