Para Bellum has announced four new model kits for the City States faction, suitable for use with Conquest:  The Last Argument of Kings and Conquest:  First Blood.  The kits include the Thorakites and Agema regiments as well as the Dorilates and Lochagos officers.  The new kits release on May 26.

Both the Thorakites and Agema are sword-and-shield close-combat units designed to work in conjunction with the spear-wielding phalanxes of the City States faction.  The Thorakites are well-suited to tight spaces and rough terrain that traditional phalanxes struggle in, avoiding the dense formation and drill of those units.  The Agema are drawn from the personal guards of a City State ruler, representing their highest level of training and discipline.

The two kits are both “dual kits,” meaning that they have all of the components need to assemble either Thorakites or Agema models in the same box.  Each comes with a dozen plastic miniatures, supplied unassembled and unpainted, as well as three sets of infantry bases and two command cards.  MSRP is $39.99 each.

Two officers for the new troops will also be available:  the Dorilates and the Lochagos, available separately.  Each kit has a single unpainted and unassembled resin figure and an infantry base, and has an MSRP of $24.99 each.

The City States faction was added to the line earlier this year (see “Para Bellum Goes Greek for ‘Conquest’ City States Faction” and “Para Bellum Unveils Two Titan ‘Conquest’ Models for Retail”).  A companion app to assist players in the game is also being offered (see “Para Bellum Unveils Heavy Cavalry for ‘Conquest’”).
