The ancient Greeks have inspired the new City States faction for Para Bellum Games’ Conquest and Conquest:  First Blood tabletop wargames.  The new faction will be available starting later this month.  The company is also inviting FLGS retailers to participate in a “Greek Night” event to support the launch.

As a Greek company, Para Bellum Games offers its own perspective on Greek-inspired fantasy, and has used that perspective to guide the development of the seventh faction for Conquest and Conquest:  First Blood.  Combining historical and mythological elements, the City States faction blends technology and magic as heirs to the Old Dominion.  Players of the new faction can call on phalanx-style formations with mythical brutes and mechanically-enhanced warriors.

The initial release of the new faction will include two character kits, the Polemarch and the Aristarch, MSRP 24.99 each, and a total of four regiments between the 12-model Phalangites/Hoplites Infantry Duel Kit with an MSRP of $39.99 and the 3-model Minotaur Haspists/Thyreans Brute Duel Kit at MSRP $59.99.

A Two Player Starter Set:  Nords Vs. The City States will also be offered.  It comes with 1 limited-edition version Polemarch, 24 Hoplites/Phalangites, 3 Minotaur Thyreans/Haspists, 1 limited-edition version Honungyr, 12 Bow Chosen, 12 Huskarls, and 1 Mountain Jotnar model, along with 2 soft-cover The Last Argument of Kings Version 2 rulebooks, a “Path of Conquest” guide, and a set of quick-start scenarios.  MSRP is $179.99.

All models are supplied unpainted, and some assembly is required.

To support the launch of the new faction, the company will be sponsoring in-store “Greek Night” events, with Greek-inspired food and merchandising materials to introduce the story and artwork of the City States faction.

Para Bellum Games recently announced the results of its Project 8 contest to determine the eighth faction for Conquest:  Sorcerer Kings (see “Para Bellum Reveals Eight Faction for ‘Conquest’”) as well as plans to revive its Resin Beast Painting Competition (see “Para Bellum and Creature Caster Team Up to Bring Back Resin Beast Painting Competition”).  More details on the company’s 2023 plans can be found here:  “Para Bellum Previews ‘Conquest’ Releases for 2023”.
