The Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc) is offering two $750 grants for comics retailers to attend the Diamond Retailer Summit, which will take place in Dallas, Texas, from June 7-9, 2023 (see “Diamond Announces Two-Year Deal with Fan Expo for Retailer Summits”). This is the second year in a row that Binc has offered the financial assistance, which can be used for travel, lodging, meals, or wages for a replacement for the attendee.

To qualify, applicants must either own or be a regular full- or part-time employee of a bricks-and-mortar store whose owner makes a substantial part of its money from the sale of comics, or a mobile or pop-up store that is funded on an ongoing basis and open to the public at least 30 hours a week. The application is online, and the deadline to apply is May 22, 2023.

Binc Program Manager Judey Kalchik will be on site at the summit and encourages all employees to stop by her table to ask questions or offer feedback.
