Trick or Treat Studios has teamed up with Rob Zombie for a House of 1000 Corpses board game.
Trick or Treat Studios and Rob Zombie have been collaborating on various masks and action figures prior to this next step in their relationship, which is a full-fledged board game based on the cult classic film. Previously, NECA had held the House of 1000 Corpses license to do action figures and collectibles, back when The Devil's Rejects was first about to hit theaters (see "NECA Gets 'House of 1000 Corpses' License"). In the new board game, players assume the roles of members of the infamous Firefly family to terrorize victims in the eerie backwoods of Ruggsville, Texas.
"When we asked him (Zombie) if we could make this game, he only agreed to it on the condition that you get to play the bad guys," said Joe Stoken, Director of Buisness Development at Trick or Trick Studios. "So, in this game, you can choose to play Captain Spaulding, Otis, Mother, or Baby."
It is a macabre cooperative board game where the players will work together to fill up their Blood Meter by capturing or killing as many victims as they can before the cops arrive to stop them. If too many victims escape the Fireflys, the players lose the game. The game is for two to four players, ages 17 and up, and plays in 60 minutes. It will retail for $59.99.
This board game will be initially crowd-funded, and the campaign will include a retail pledge level, with trade distribution to follow.
