Oni Press announced SP20, a program celebrating the 20th anniversary of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim series.  The centerpiece releases for the program will be two deluxe Scott Pilgrim box sets, both due in July 2024.

Both box sets will feature clamshell collector’s boxes, with new art and not-yet-revealed limited-edition bonus items.  The difference between the two is in the titles: the Scott Pilgrim 20th Anniversary Color Hardcover Box Set is in color, while the Scott Pilgrim 20th Anniversary B&W Hardcover Box Set is the first time the original black-and-white version of the series will be available in hardcover.

The first Scott Pilgrim volume, Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life, was released in 2004, with a color release put out in 2012 (see "'Scott Pilgrim' in Color").  For the series’ 15th anniversary in 2019, Oni Press put out new color collections and a box set (see "'Scott Pilgrim' Gets Makeover").

The upcoming Netflix anime series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off! launches on November 17 (see "'Scott Pilgrim Takes Off' Trailer") and is co-written and produced by creator O’Malley.

Back in 2010, reacting to impact of the Scott Pilgrim movie, Oni Press publisher Joe Nozemack said, "We’re hoping [the series is] a perennial."  Looks like he was right.
