Absolute Batman and Son by Grant Morrison is due out July 9, 2024 from DC Comics, as a 456-page hardcover priced at $150. The volume contains Batman #655-658, #663-669, #672-675, and Batman Incorporated (volume 2) #5 in the oversized format under a new cover by Andy Kubert.
These issues, written by Morrison (All-Star Superman), were illustrated by Andy Kubert (Flashpoint), J.H. Williams III (Batwoman), and Tony S. Daniel (Detective Comics) and introduced Damian Wayne, son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. Batman takes Damian under his wing and tries to teach him to be a hero in spite of his murderous upbringing by the League of Assassins. An additional future-set story shows Damian becoming Batman.
As well as the new cover, Kubert contributed the introduction, with other extras not specified to be included in the Absolute Edition.
The Batman and Son storyline is the basis for the upcoming live action movie The Brave and the Bold (see “DC Announces New Movies and TV Series”), which features Damian Wayne.
