DC is utilizing the breadth of its parent’s holdings by adopting a transmedia strategy for a new comic miniseries that will bridge the storylines between the first two seasons of the My Adventures with Superman animated series, the company announced.  The 10-episode first season began airing in July 2023 (see "’My Adventures with Superman’ Trailer"), but a release date for the second season, likely delayed by last year’s lengthy writers and actors strikes, has not been announced.

The comic series will be written by Josie Campbell, the head writer/co-producer for the animated series, who was also head writer for She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

"This story is one we actually talked about in the writers room, but we didn’t have space for it in season one," Campbell explained.

Campbell has also been involved in a couple of DC editorial events, including the 2021 future DC story arc Future State (see "DC Future State Announcement"), and 2023’s Lazarus Planet (see "’Lazarus Planet’ Will Transform DC").

In the new comics series, Clark Kent is spending Christmas alone in Metropolis when he gets a tip about a monster in the sewer that absorbs anything it touches, and investigates the mystery with Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen.

Art will be Pablo M. Collar (Are You Afraid of Darkseid).  The primary cover is by Carli Squiteri, with variants by Gavin Guidry and Riley Rossmo, and a blank variant cover.  Street date is June 4.
