Marvel Comics will bring Star Wars and Star Wars: Darth Vader to an end in September 2024 with 50-page finales for both series. Marvel also announced it will launch new series later in 2024 that will be set in “a different era of the galaxy, far, far away.” Both Star Wars and Star Wars: Darth Vader are set in the period between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi (see “Big Changes for Marvel Characters” and “‘Star Wars: Darth Vader’”).
Star Wars #50, by Charles Soule and Madibek Musabekov, will end with Luke Skywalker explaining the difference between Light and Dark with a story set in the times of the Rebel Alliance but also intersecting with other periods of Star Wars history. It will go on sale on September 11, 2024.
Star Wars: Darth Vader #50, by Greg Pak and Raffaele Ienco, will end with Darth Vader turning the power he has accumulated against the Emperor Palpatine, as well as some final twists for the other characters in the series. This issue will be released on September 18, 2024.
Both final issues will have a main cover by Leinil Francis Yu and connecting covers by Giuseppe Camuncoli.
