BOOM! Studios has two collected editions of the webcomic Cyanide & Happiness coming up in November and December, timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the webcomic.

Cyanide & Happiness: Twenty Years Wasted (A Questionable Recollection of the First Two Decades) collects popular strips, new comics that have never been published before, and a history of the webcomic by co-creators Kris Wilson, Rob DenBleyker, and Dave McElfatrick, with their commentary as well as photos and documents. The 208-page book will go on sale on December 11, 2024, in the direct market and December 17 in the book channel as a softcover with an MSRP of $19.99 and a hardcover with an MSRP of $24.99. There will be a special variant cover for the BOOM! Direct Reserve program.

In addition, BOOM! will publish Cyanide & Happiness: Punching Zoo (20th Anniversary Edition), by Wilson, DenBleyker, McElfatrick, and Matt Melvin, a new edition of the collection first published by BOOM! Box in 2014 (see “BOOM! Publisher Talks ‘Cyanide & Happiness’”). The 200-page book includes a foreword by reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and a number of strips that are not available online. The new edition will be released on November 27, 2024, as a paperback with an MSRP of $14.99 and a hardcover with an MSRP of $24.99.

One of the most popular early webcomics, Cyanide & Happiness launched in 2005 and is still online; Melvin left the collaboration in 2014. In 2016, the three remaining creators launched a Kickstarter for their tabletop game Joking Hazard; it raised over $3.2 million (see “Top 10 Tabletop Game Kickstarters”). They have released several other games since then, most recently Master Dater (see “Manipulate Head and Body Cards to Become the ‘Master Dater’”).
