The series will be written by Chris Condon (Venom War: Daredevil) and drawn by Alessandro Cappuccio (Moon Knight). It joins previous Ultimate titles, including Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, and Ultimate X-Men (see "New Marvel Ultimate Titles") as well as Ultimates (see "Ultimate Comics June Titles").
The Ultimate Wolverine character is described as "an unwilling agent of the Maker, the secret creator of this corrupt universe." Condon teased, "You might notice that there’s a Red Star on his costume and you might wonder why. If you look at that mask, there’s a muzzle on him and that’s because he’s wild.”
Ultimate Wolverine #1 has a main cover by Cappuccio and variants by Gleb Melnikov and Steve Skroce.
The Ultimate Wolverine creative team will also provide a prelude story in the one-shot Ultimate Universe: One Year In (see "Marvel Roundup"), due out December 11. That special issue will wrap up the first year of Marvel's Ultimate Universe and set up stories for 2025. There's a special variant cover available for that issue by Cappuccio revealing Ultimate Wolverine.
