Turkey Day is on the way, and so is more Hollywood news. Time for another round-up!
The third season of animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions will feature nine shorts from different anime studios, including returning studios Production I.G., Kamikaze Douga, Kinema citrus Co., and TRIGGER; and five studios new to Star Wars: ANIMA, David Production, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q, and WIT Studio. The series has spawned a raft of books (see “’Star Wars: Visions’ Anthology from Viz”). The new season will drop in 2025.
DC Studios is reportedly looking towards Daniel Craig to star in a Sgt. Rock movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This project will revolve around the tough-as-nails U.S. soldier that made his first appearance in Our Army at War #58 (1959). Craig recently ended his stint as James Bond with the movie No Time to Die (see "'Bond' Trailer").
Disney revealed, at D23 Brasil, that Andor Season 2 will begin streaming on April 22, 2024. The previous season, starring Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, wrapped up back in 2022 (see "'Star Wars: Andor'").
Disney also announced that Toy Story 5 will be headed to the silver screen on June 19, 2026. The studio had previously released a teaser trailer for this project at D23 (see "Disney Drops Animation Trailers Galore").
FX Networks released a new teaser for Alien: Earth (see below). This series, created by Noah Hawley and starring Sydney Chandler (see "'ALIEN' Series"), Alex Lawther, and Timothy Olyphant, will be headed to Hulu in 2025.
Game Workshop and Amazon Prime unveiled a Warhammer 40,000-themed trailer for the new Secret Level series (see below). The new trailer gives audiences a better glimpse of the Space Marine in this series. Secret Level begins streaming on December 10, 2024 (see "'Secret Level'").
