The fall season is setting in, and Hollywood news keeps on coming. It's time for round-up!

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice opened with a bang, grossing $110 million at the domestic box office for the weekend, according to Variety.  That’s the second biggest September open of all time, and the third best opening this year (after Deadpool & Wolverine and Inside Out 2).  The Tim Burton sequel was released some 36 years after the first film in 1988. The film was projected to open at $65 to $80 million just a few weeks ago (see "’Beetlejuice’ Tracking Large").

FX Networks released a teaser for ALIEN: Earth (see below).  This series, created by Noah Hawley, stars Sydney Chandler (see "'ALIEN' Series"), Alex Lawther, and Timothy Olyphant.  It will be landing on HULU in 2025.

Screen Gems, a Sony label, has optioned Ice Cream Man for development, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Ice Cream Man is an acclaimed horror comics anthology by W. Maxwell Prince (see "Ice Cream Man 'Quarantine Comix'"), published by Image Comics, in which the creepy title character ties together a series of macabre tales.  Screen Gems has tapped Beetlejuice Beetlejuice writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar to adapt the anthology to a screenplay.

Amazon MGM Studios added a new member to the cast of their Masters of the Universe movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Community and Glow star Allison Brie will take on the role of Evil-Lyn in the movie.  She joins co-star Nicholas Galitzine, who plays He-Man, on this long-delayed movie project (see "'MOTU' Movie Finds a He-Man'").
