There was plenty of Hollywood news to digest (alongside Thanksgiving Day leftovers). It's time for a round-up!
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade hit a record 31.3 million viewers this year, according to Variety. The viewership was up 10% from 2023, driven by an increase in views via streaming on Peacock. This viewership number represents a solid recovery for the parade since the COVID-19 years (see "Quarantine For The Holidays").
Paramount Pictures revealed a new trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (see below). The third Sonic movie, starring Ben Schwartz, Jim Carrey, and Keanu Reeves, hits theaters on December 20, 2024 (see "Best in Shows -- 2024").
Paramount Animation and Maximum Effort Productions are developing a Mighty Mouse movie, according to Variety, with Matt Lieberman (Free Guy) tapped to write the script. Paramount Animation is moving on from the version in development back in 2018 (see "’Mighty Mouse’ Writers"). Maximum Effort Productions is owned by Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds (see "'Deadpool & Wolverine'").
Disney Studios released a new teaser for the live action Lilo & Stitch movie (see below). This movie will head to theaters on May 23, 2025 (see "Animation Trailers").
Netflix released an official trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (see below). The new movie sees the return of Feathers McGraw from Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers (see "New 'Wallace & Gromit'"). It will begin streaming on January 3, 2025.
