Phalanx Games will release Purple Haze, a Vietnam War board game by Bernard Grybowski, to trade in early 2025.  The game has been in development since 2021 (see “’Purple Haze’”), and Phalanx has recently completed fulfillment to its Gamefound backers.

Purple Haze is a cooperative story-creation game in which players make difficult decisions and battle the enemy to survive.  Only some of the forces will make it home.

Box contents include 63 poker-sized cards, 87 tarot-sized cards, 1 rulebook, 9 mission booklets, 1 playbook, 1 large double-sided mapboard, 1 small double-sided mapboard, 1 combat board, 1 tracker board, 4 countersheets, 5 player aids, 22 standard six-sided dice, 12 small six-sided dice, 2 custom six-sided dice, 24 wooden cubes, 1 LoS ruler, 1 pencil, 1 logbook, and 15 zipper bags.

Purple Haze is for one to four players, ages 18 and up, and plays in 90 to 720(!) minutes.

Phalanx shifted its distribution from Ares to GTS Distribution last year (see “Phalanx Goes Exclusive”).
