Oni Press will launch a new ongoing
Adventure Time series in April 2025, with a creative team that will vary from issue to issue. Animator and cartoonist Nick Winn and former
Adventure Time writer and storyboard artist will helm the first issue, and Oni has announced that contributors to future issues will include Caroline Cash, who won the 2024 Eisner Award for Best Limited Series for
PeePee PooPoo (see “
Silver Sprocket Adds More ‘PeePee PooPoo’”); Asia Simone, the artist for Scholastic’s
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur graphic novel (see “
New ‘Moon Girl’ Graphic Novel”); Jorge Monlongo, whose credits include BOOM! Studios’
Adventure Time series as well as
Napoleon Dynamite, Rugrats, and
Rocko’s Modern Life comics; and
My Little Pony artist Brenda Hicke. The first issue of the new series will be published on April 9, 2025, with a main cover by Winn, variants by David Nakayama and Trung Le Nguyen, a returnable variant by Tillie Walden, a “Finn Blue” sketch variant, a gold foil variant by Nakayama, a silver foil variant by Nguyen, an infinite interlocking 1:10 variant by Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb (artists for the original BOOM! series), a 1:20 variant by Cash, a 1:50 variant by Erica Henderson (who won the 2024 Eisner Award for
Danger and Other Unknown Risks, with former
Adventure Time writer Ryan North), and a 1:100 black and white variant by Nakayama.
Oni acquired the Adventure Time license in 2024 and has been re-publishing the earlier comics produced by BOOM! Studios in compendium editions (see “‘Adventure Time’ Comics Back from Oni Press”).
