The Top 20 consisted entirely of two types of manga: Shonen Jump series and high-end collections (mostly Berserk, except for the 3-in-1 Deluxe Edition of Junji Ito’s Uzumaki). Every title in the Full Year Top 20 falls into one of those two categories.
In terms of Shonen Jump titles, Jujutsu Kaisen took seven spots on the chart, just as it did in January 2024 (see "January 2024 Circana BookScan"). That was the month after the anime series ended, and it demonstrated the effect anime can have on manga: The last episode of the anime corresponded with a chapter in Vol. 16 of the manga, so sales of Vols. 16-21 surged. That boost seems to have lasted all year; both the first and the most recent volumes of the series are in the Top 20, which means new people are discovering it and longtime fans are continuing to follow it.
On the other side of things, Vol. 1 of Berserk made the Adult Top 20 every month for the entire year, and Vol. 2 made the chart as well from June on (see "The Boom in Deluxe Editions"). That’s unusual for any single volume, let alone one with an MSRP of $49.99. The ComicHub charts indicate that Berserk does well in the direct market as well, both the deluxe and the standard editions (see "Top 20 Manga – Full Year 2024").

Circana collects weekly point-of-sale data on print books from over 16,000 locations including e-tailers, chains, mass merchandisers, independent bookstores, and more. Circana covers approximately 85% of the U.S. trade print book market. The ranks on this chart are based on piece sales. Some publishers classify titles that are primarily text, or art books, as graphic novels; we've removed those titles from the ranking above.
