ComicBooks For Kids (CB4K) has announced a new addition to its Board of Directors and the formation of a new Advisory Board.

Spencer Simpson, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Oni Press, is joining the CB4K Board of directors. Simpson has been working with CB4K for years, since his time at DC Comics and BOOM! Studios.

Tiny Titans co-creator Art Baltazar is the first member of the new Advisory Board, which will recommend new programs that support and promote CB4K’s mission, including new variants (see “Three Retailers Sponsor New Covers”). The board will report to CB4K founder and president Mark Weiss. “We have been wanting to add both Spencer and Art for some time but needed to make sure the timing was right for all parties,” Weiss said in a statement accompanying the announcement.

The organization introduced its retailer kits at the February 2025 ComicsPRO meeting (see “ComicBooks For Kids Unveils Retailer Kits”).

CB4K distributes comics to children in hospitals and cancer centers, and its sister organization ComicBooks For Troops sends comics to the military. For more information, visit the ComicBooksFor Kids website.
