Wizards of the Coast updated details on the upcoming Magic: The Gathering - Edge of Eternities booster set, which will hit retail on August 1, 2025.

Edge of Eternities offers players an array of new cards for players to sink their teeth into.  The most interesting new card type added to the game is new artifact vehicles called Spacecraft, which is almost a natural inclusion for a booster set that is set is a science fiction space plane that is reminiscent of Dungeons & Dragon's Spelljammer (see "Spelljammer").  Along with the addition of Spacecraft as an artifact type, there will be a change to Commander rules.  WotC designers have updated the Commander format rules so that legendary cards with a printed power and toughness can be used as a player's Commander.

The Shock Lands also make their return to the Standard format with this set.  Godless Shrine, Watery Grave, Sacred Foundry, Stomping Ground, and Breeding Pool will all be reprinted in this set.  The card treatments for this set include new, full-art Singularity foils, Stellar Sights Lands, and Borderless Triumphant cards.  The set will also contain a boarderless Celestial card treatment for basic lands.  The artwork for this set is akin to the art from the Unfinity set, another space-based booster set (see "'Unfinity'"), with the exception that the art is not satirical and more geared toward establishing a true science fiction tone.
